Welcome to Oma's World.
Welcome to Oma's world: a hermitage set on a pristine lake, nestled in mountains, surrounded by trees and inhabited by Oma, Kenya (her own dog) and the dogs she looks after.
In Oma's world there is time to see, really see, the natural landscape as it changes. When she is not outside with the dogs, Oma reads, writes and watches films. She has also returned to a lost hobby, knitting, tried pottery and felting with very limited success, and produced a great deal of funky furniture over the past year or so. She also teaches occasionally at a local language school.
Since moving to the hermitage she has discovered the secret to raising healthy house plants. They have to love their environment. We all do if we are to lead happy productive lives.
This summer she tried her hand at creating a garden, and has been consumed by it to the exclusion of most other occupations.

It still feels a little unreal to me. I am delighted of course ... but I can't imagine that more will sell ... it's just a fluke, I am sure.

Yes. After every sale. Even after 34 years. And a sale doesn't "count" if it is a friend who buys...and over the years many, many of our buyers have become friends.
But it is what keeps the work sharp.
That is exciting!
That's wonderful! I'm not surprised that they sold. I'm loving the chairs.
Did they sell through the store? I'm glad they worked out better terms with you. One of my major pet peeves is that artists never make what they are worth and there's still people trying to take more money from them.

Tamarak: Thank you ... and Yes ... and it was the one I was having nightmares about as soon as I put it into the shop ... you know the kind ... it's not good enough ... I should add things to make it more interesting or sand down some areas that are still rough ... that kind of thing.
