I love this one too!
Such a beautiful miniature scene...expect to see a wee elf or fairy peek out!

What a beautiful shaggy mane! This is one of the few I know well enough to pick and eat. They taste like nice mild fish.

I think it is sweet but it dissolves into black ink .... and looks poisonous ... are you sure it is edible?

You're thinking of tippler's bane (which is another kind of ink cap, both are a coprinus mushroom). Interestingly it isn't poisonous either, but it makes alcohol a poison in your system. You can tell the difference between comatus (shaggy mane) and atramentaria (common ink cap) by the shaggy little shingles on the cap.

Tippler's bane used to be used to discourage alcoholics.

Might be a good way to cut down on wine consumption ...
