Thank you both ... and Fraulein ... I have a story I think you might be able to use. It comes from Girl Guides in Kenya ... about a girl who was helped by the Guides to stand up and fight against a serious social problem in schools ... she was able to stop a headmaster from sexually assaulting and threatening young female students because she was able to go to the powers-that-be and tell them what he did to her ... a case of the "wrong kind of touching" ... it was the second school ... and he had left behind a pregnant student in the previous school. The power of the Guides must be really wonderful because teachers in Kenya are regarded very highly so it took a lot of self respect for this girl to tell the authorities.
Welcome to Oma's world: a hermitage set on a pristine lake, nestled in mountains, surrounded by trees and inhabited by Oma, Kenya (her own dog) and the dogs she looks after.
In Oma's world there is time to see, really see, the natural landscape as it changes. When she is not outside with the dogs, Oma reads, writes and watches films. She has also returned to a lost hobby (knitting), begun to enjoy two new ones (felting and pottery making) and just recently she began painting with acrylics.
Since moving to the hermitage she has discovered the secret to raising healthy house plants. They have to love their environment. We all do if we are to lead happy productive lives.
... a woman who has been many women and will likely continue to metamorphasize until the end ...
I have been a mother, a grandmother, a writer, a teacher, a traveler, a nomad, and a hermit so far ... and now it seems I am evolving into a folk artist wannabe. Who knows where my travels will lead?
